Treemap .... such a big lie ...

Here I will talk about the real nature of treemaps and the unfortunate fact of their pleasent appearance dispite their misleadng reality ...

I will use this post to present my version of a more reliable hierarchical representation that uses the same compact technique as a treemap: treestack

What is a treemap?


A treemap is just a hierarchical partition of a usually rectangular space in which every rectangular part represents quantitative properties through visual charactetistics like area and color.
